The HIV & AIDS History Banner was a visual tool that captured ‘25 years of HIV at a
glance‘. Several events, significant on both the world stage and in Africa,
were selected and plotted on a 25-foot banner. The banner hung on the
conference room wall during the week of the Forum, giving participants a
chance to remember the turning points and celebrate the many successes of
the last 25 years. Using marking pens, participants added their own
significant events to the banner and discussed them with colleagues. This
documentation and reflection process was intended to help participants
acknowledge their role in the history -- and the future -- of the fight
against HIV.
