The first of its kind in the world, The Art Miles Mural Project provides an
innovative opportunity to capture the essence, heritage, environment and
spirit of our global village through the creation of large scale murals.

Beginning in 1997, ‘Healing Hearts through Art‘ has grown from a single
mural painted in a Bosnian orphanage into 12 miles of murals painted on
canvas with acrylic paint. Along the way, the Art Miles Mural Project has
grown from being a simple activity into therapeutic healing through
self-expression.

|
More than 40,000 participants from over 100 counties have painted murals -
in settings as diverse as refugee camps, hospitals, schools, town centers,
parks, and conferences. Each mile of murals, including the mural painted by
the participants at the Africa Forum 2006, will be displayed in Egypt around
the pyramids in 2010 - at the art exhibit of the century.
