PCI Africa Forum 2006 Program

Project Concern International (PCI) and partners hosted the Africa Forum from May 8 - 12, 2006, in Lusaka, Zambia. The Forum, entitled Food Security and HIV/AIDS: An Integrated Response to the Dual Epidemics of Hunger and HIV/AIDS in Africa, provided an excellent opportunity for local NGOs and international public health and development organizations to share experiences in integrating HIV/AIDS, food security, and nutrition programming. The Forum provided opportunities to strengthen collective efforts, as well as to inform policy decisions based on ‘frontline‘ realities.
Forum Objectives
1. Enhance learning and information sharing between program implementers on best practices and lessons learned through presentations, workshops, hands-on training and site visits
2. Identify gaps in the ‘value chain‘ where information on best practices is lacking
3. Build and strengthen partnerships for continued learning
Forum Approach
A variety of approaches were used to achieve the forum objectives. These included presentations, poster sessions, panel discussions, skills building workshops, program site visits, networking, and relationship-building activities.
